About Floorplay
Floorplay is a song request marketplace operated by Floorplay Ltd ('Floorplay', 'we', 'us', 'our'). We provide a platform accessible at floorplay.io that enables fans attending live events ('Fans') to submit prioritised song requests to DJs ('DJs') by placing a monetary bid. Floorplay does not perform music, does not employ DJs, and does not operate venues.
By accessing or using floorplay.io you agree to these Terms of Service ('Terms'). If you do not agree, do not use the platform.
What “Service Delivered” Means
IMPORTANT: Floorplay's service is the submission and processing of a priority song request. The service is considered fully delivered when a DJ accepts your request in the Floorplay app. Floorplay does not guarantee that any song will be audibly played at any specific time or at all during a set.
DJs retain full creative and professional discretion over their sets including the timing, ordering, and manner of playing any accepted request. Acceptance of a request in the app constitutes fulfillment of the Floorplay service regardless of when or whether the song is played audibly at the event.
If a DJ skips or rejects your request before accepting it, you will receive a full automatic refund. See Section 5 for our full refund policy.
Fan Obligations
As a Fan using Floorplay you agree to:
- Provide accurate payment information and be the authorised holder of any payment method used
- Be aged 18 or over, or the minimum legal age in your jurisdiction if higher
- Use the platform only for genuine personal song requests and not to manipulate, spam, or disrupt any DJ's queue
- Not place bids with the intention of requesting a refund after submission without legitimate cause
- Not use automated tools, bots, or scripts to interact with the platform
- Comply with all venue rules and applicable laws at any event you attend
Fans do not need to create an account. You are identified by a unique request token generated at the time of payment. Keep your request link to track your queue status.
DJ Obligations
DJs who register on Floorplay agree to:
- Provide accurate profile information including name, location, and performance genres
- Complete Stripe Express onboarding and maintain a valid connected payout account
- Process fan requests in good faith during live events and action (accept or skip) requests within a reasonable time
- Not place, cause to be placed, or benefit from fraudulent or self-generated bids
- Not accept requests for songs they have no genuine intention of playing
- Comply with all applicable music licensing requirements at their venues — Floorplay does not provide music licences and is not responsible for venue licensing obligations
- Maintain professional conduct toward fans and not misuse fan messages or personal information
- Notify Floorplay promptly if they become aware of any abuse, fraud, or technical issue affecting their events
Refund Policy
Our refund policy is straightforward:
If a DJ skips your request before accepting it, you receive a full automatic refund with no action required from you.
If a DJ ends a set without processing your request, you receive a full automatic refund within 10 minutes of the set ending.
If a DJ rejects your request, you receive a full automatic refund.
Once a DJ has accepted your request in the app, the service has been delivered and no refund is available. See Section 2.
If a payment is taken but your request fails to register due to a technical fault on our platform, you are entitled to a full refund. Contact support@floorplay.io.
Refunds are returned to your original payment method. Processing time depends on your card issuer but typically takes 5–10 business days to appear.
Floorplay reserves the right to issue goodwill refunds at our sole discretion in exceptional circumstances.
Payments & Fees
All payments are processed by Stripe. Floorplay does not store card details. By making a payment you agree to Stripe's Terms of Service available at stripe.com/legal.
Floorplay charges DJs a platform fee of 15% on each accepted request. This fee is deducted automatically before DJ payouts are processed. Fans are not charged any additional fees beyond the bid amount they submit.
Minimum bid amount is £1.00. Bids are charged in full at the time of submission and held until the request is processed.
This is not a gambling product. Bids are service fees for a priority request service. Fans who are not served receive a full refund of their bid.
Prohibited Conduct
The following are strictly prohibited on Floorplay:
- Fraud, chargebacks without legitimate cause, or abuse of the refund system
- Self-bidding, bid manipulation, or any attempt to artificially inflate queue rankings
- Harassment, threatening, or abusive behaviour toward DJs, other fans, or Floorplay staff
- Requesting songs that promote or incite violence, hatred, or discrimination
- Using the platform for any purpose other than genuine song requests
- Attempting to circumvent, hack, or reverse-engineer any part of the platform
Violations may result in immediate suspension, permanent ban, forfeiture of pending bids, and where appropriate referral to law enforcement.
Intellectual Property
Floorplay and its logo, name, and visual identity are trademarks of Floorplay Ltd. You may not use our brand without prior written permission.
Floorplay does not claim ownership over any music requested through the platform. Music rights remain with their respective owners. DJs and venues are solely responsible for obtaining appropriate music licences.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law:
- Floorplay is a technology platform only and is not responsible for the conduct of DJs, fans, or venues
- We do not guarantee that any requested song will be played
- We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from use of the platform
- Our total liability to any user for any claim arising from use of Floorplay shall not exceed the total amount paid by that user to Floorplay in the 3 months preceding the claim
Nothing in these Terms limits liability for fraud, death, or personal injury caused by negligence, or any liability that cannot be excluded by law.
Governing Law & Disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any dispute arising from these Terms or use of the platform shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
Before initiating any legal proceedings, users agree to first contact Floorplay at legal@floorplay.io to attempt to resolve the dispute informally within 30 days.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will update the effective date at the top of this document and notify registered DJs by email. Continued use of the platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
